Fukushima Videos

This interview is quite good and covers many points from the MSM coverage, discrimination against Fukushima residents through to the possibility of a Fukushima like crisis happening at Indian Point in the US

Aileen Mioko SMITH, Kaori Izumi & Kevin Kamps from Beyond Nuclear join Thom Hartmann. We here at the Big Picture and on my radio show have been doing our best to keep you updated on the latest developments coming out of Japan – as that nation tries to deal with one of the worst nuclear catastrophes in the history of the world. To help us do that – tonight – I’m joined by a few special guests in the studio who’ve flown here all the way from Japan to share their story – and to warn the world about the dangers of nuclear power. Later this week – they will travel to the United Nations where they will call on the UN to recognize human rights violations against children caused by the Fukushima crisis – and ask the UN to stop its global promotion of nuclear energy.

Gundersen expresses concerns that the nuclear industry and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission are not addressing major safety issues that have become evident since Fukushima. These issues include serious design flaws in the BWR Mark 1 containment, fundamental flaws in the Boiling Water Reactor vessel design, and problems with detonation shockwaves. The NRC and the nuclear industry are using a flawed cost benefit computer code that underestimates the value of human life and minimize property damages after an accident, which has the effect of justifying continued operation of reactors without safety modifications.

Prof. Chris Busby – help save children from Fukushima from radiation:

At least one billion becquerels a day of radiation continue to leak from Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant after the March earthquake and tsunami.

Experts say that the total amount of radiation leaked will exceed amounts released from Chernobyl, making Fukushima the worst nuclear disaster in history.

Photographs of 60,000-Strong Anti-Nuke Demonstration in Tokyo: Japanese MSMs Called It “A Parade”

Article By Japaneses Blogger @

Looking at this aerial photographs taken by Mainichi Shinbun (one of the better ones in terms of even coverage on nuke issues in Japan; another is Tokyo Shinbun), it sure looks more than 60,000 to me. People who actually participated in the event seemed to have the same impression as mine (on this blog comment sections, and on twitter), that it was far bigger than official number by the police (30,000).

Mainichi quotes the organizers’ number of 60,000 people, and also quotes the number by the police (30,000):

Meanwhile, photos from Germany’s Spiegel and France’s Le Monde, who used the photos from AP and other agencies. Spiegel puts the number at 60,000:

and Yomiuri, who says “more than 30,000 people gathered” (exactly the police official estimate):

Asahi, slightly better perspective but not much, but the article does quite the organizers’ number, 60,000 people:

and the US paper Forbes, without photo, says “tens of thousands of people marched”, but the article title declares “Thousands march against nuclear power in Tokyo”. Thousands??

Many participants in Japan are indignant that their demonstration was called a “parade”, as if this was some festival attraction. Well, give the media time to learn. To me, it’s amazing that the MSMs like Yomiuri and Asahi covered the event at all, and even had photographs. Asahi and Mainichi sent in their own photographers for the event. (Yomiuri’s looks like Jiji Tsushin’s photo.) I would take it as a sign that the anti-nuke movement may be crossing the threshold in Japan in terms of the number of people, and the MSMs cannot simply ignore anymore.

Calling it a “parade” and using the lowest official estimate by the police as the number of participants is a classic way to belittle a movement.

Vaccine Lobby Launches Gardasil Safety Hoax

Article By Paul Joseph Watson & Alex Jones

In the aftermath of Rep. Michele Bachmann’s comments about the Gardasil shot causing mental retardation, vaccine lobbyists and the pharmaceutical-friendly establishment media have launched a new hoax claiming the vaccine is completely safe, despite the CDC’s own figures confirming over 18,000 cases of adverse reactions.

The HPV vaccine has become a presidential campaign talking point, after Ron Paul slammed rival Rick Perry when he pointed out that the Texas Governor’s former chief of staff was a lobbyist for Merck at the same time Perry mandated all girls in Texas receive the shot with an executive order.

However, the controversy only intensified when Rep. Michele Bachmann told the Today Showthat a mother had approached her after last week’s Republican debate and told her that her daughter became mentally retarded after receiving the HPV vaccine.

This prompted vaccine advocates, several of whom have direct ties to Merck Pharmaceuticals to circulate the hoax, with the enthusiastic support of the corporate press, that the HPV shot is completely safe and has no side-effects whatsoever.

“Dr. Arthur Caplan, director of the University of Pennsylvania Bioethics Center, offered Bachmann $10,000 if she could produce solid evidence of a case in which a “vaccine victim” developed a mental disability following an HPV shot,” reports CBS News.

“Since the vaccine has been introduced, more than 35 million doses have been administered, and it has an excellent safety record,” responded the American Academy of Pediatrics in a statement.

Vanderbilt University’s Dr. William Schaffner also told ABC News, “The HPV vaccine and other vaccines are wonderfully safe vaccines, they’ve been tested extensively and we’re quite comfortable in saying they’re safe.”

Schaffner’s level of comfort in asserting the vaccine is safe may derive from the fact that his National Foundation for Infectious Diseaseshas given awards to the inoculation-pushing Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as Paul A. Offit MD, a vehement vaccine promoter who holds a $1.5 million dollar research position at a Merck funded children’s hospital and owns several patents on vaccines.

However, the Center for Disease Control’s own figures clearly illustrate how the HPV shot is not “wonderfully safe” at all, as its Merck-linked proponents claim.

The CDC’s own figures show that there have been “18,727 reports of adverse events following Gardasil® vaccination,” including 68 deaths. The report also details the link between the vaccine and blood clots, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, as well as fainting, nausea, and fever.

In attacking Bachmann for citing anecdotal cases of the vaccine causing “mental retardation,” the pharmaceutical establishment has launched a sophisticated hoax aimed at manipulating the public to believe that the vaccine has no side-effects whatsoever, when in reality it has been directly connected with deathspregnancy complicationsconvulsions, seizures, and a host of other serious health problems.

The video report below documents numerous personal accounts from young women and girls of Gardasil vaccine damage, as well as an interview with vaccine expert Dr. Russell Blaylock outlining the dangers associated with the shot.

Should Faking a Name on Facebook Be a Felony?

Congress contemplates draconian punishment for Internet lies.

Imagine that President Obama could order the arrest of anyone who broke a promise on the Internet. So you could be jailed for lying about your age or weight on an Internet dating site. Or you could be sent to federal prison if your boss told you to work but you used the company’s computer to check sports scores online. Imagine that Eric Holder’s Justice Department urged Congress to raise penalties for violations, making them felonies allowing three years in jail for each broken promise. Fanciful, right?

Think again. Congress is now poised to grant the Obama administration’s wishes in the name of “cybersecurity.”

The little-known law at issue is called the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. It was enacted in 1986 to punish computer hacking. But Congress has broadened the law every few years, and today it extends far beyond hacking. The law now criminalizes computer use that “exceeds authorized access” to any computer. Today that violation is a misdemeanor, but the Senate Judiciary Committee is set to meet this morning to vote on making it a felony.

The problem is that a lot of routine computer use can exceed “authorized access.” Courts are still struggling to interpret this language. But the Justice Department believes that it applies incredibly broadly to include “terms of use” violations and breaches of workplace computer-use policies.

Breaching an agreement or ignoring your boss might be bad. But should it be a federal crime just because it involves a computer? If interpreted this way, the law gives computer owners the power to criminalize any computer use they don’t like. Imagine the Democratic Party setting up a public website and announcing that no Republicans can visit. Every Republican who checked out the site could be a criminal for exceeding authorized access.

If that sounds far-fetched, consider a few recent cases. In 2009, the Justice Department prosecuted a woman for violating the “terms of service” of the social networking site The woman had been part of a group that set up a MySpace profile using a fake picture. The feds charged her with conspiracy to violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Prosecutors say the woman exceeded authorized access because MySpace required all profile information to be truthful. But people routinely misstate the truth in online profiles, about everything from their age to their name. What happens when each instance is a felony?

In 2010, the Justice Department charged a defendant with unauthorized access for using a computer to buy tickets from Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster’s website lets anyone visit. But its “terms of use” only permitted non-automated purchases, and the defendant used a computer script to make the purchases.

In another case, Justice has charged a defendant with violating workplace policies that limited use to legitimate company business. Prosecutors claimed that using the company’s computers for other reasons exceeded authorized access. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals recently agreed.

The law even goes beyond criminal law. It allows civil suits filed by private parties. As a result, federal courts have been flooded with silly disputes. In one recent case, an employer sued a former employee for excessive Internet usage from work. The alleged offense: visiting Facebook and sending personal emails. In another case, a company posted “terms of use” on its website declaring that no competitors could visit—and then promptly sued a competitor that did.

Remarkably, the law doesn’t even require devices to be connected to the Internet. Since 2008, it applies to pretty much everything with a microchip. So if you’re visiting a friend and you use his coffeemaker without permission, watch out: You may have committed a federal crime.

Until now, the critical limit on the government’s power has been that federal prosecutors rarely charge misdemeanors. They prefer to bring more serious felony charges. That’s why the administration’s proposal is so dangerous. If exceeding authorized access becomes a felony, prosecutors will become eager to charge it. Abuses are inevitable.

Real threats to cybersecurity must be prosecuted. Penalties should be stiff. But Congress must narrow the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act before enhancing its penalties. There’s no reason to make breaching a promise a federal case, and certainly not a felony crime.

The Magic Weed

The history of cannabis suppression is complex, especially over the last 80 or so years, and this documentary sheds some light on the hemp plant’s countless uses and how nearly every culture throughout history has utilized it. Hemp fiber is one of the strongest natural fibers known and resistant to rot, which gives it thousands of uses in the textile industries. Also known as marijuana, this versatile plant can be made into soap, rope, paper, clothing, building material, burnable fuels, detergents, tools and even weapons, medicine of all sorts and so much more. Seeds can be made into a highly nutritious protein food source, all without the need of pesticides. The Magic Weed documentary shows us that it is time for humans to recognize and understand that this plant could literally save the world from the greed driven corporations such as the cotton, polymer plastics and pharmaceutical industries that were largely responsible for the propaganda and illegalization.

Cannabis Sativa is one of the most ancient plants cultivated by mankind. Hemp processing was already developed in China 8000 years before Christ was born. Hemp was first harvested for its seeds, a rich source of amino acids used for food. Then it was discovered that by breaking the stalks, they could use the fibers to make paper, as well as fishing nets and up to 5000 Hemp related products, including of course textiles. The ancient Chinese called their country The Land of Hemp and Mulberry. Mulberry leaves were used to feed silk worms from which was produced the precious silk that only the rich and powerful could afford. Everyone else wore hemp clothing. Hemp was called “ma” by the Chinese, literally meaning plant with two forms, male and female. The Chinese had originally used bamboo to make bow strings, but then they discovered the hemp fiber was stronger and lasted longer. Imperial decrees ordered that certain areas of the land would be exclusively used to grow hemp.

England has been using hemp as a strategic material for centuries. At the beginning of the 19th century, ropes and sails for ships were exclusively made from hemp. But 90% of this hemp was imported from Italy and Russia. The United Kingdom was seriously worried about maintaining its hemp supplies during the expansion of the Napoleonic empire. King George III of England decided to increase the cultivation of hemp and develop its production in the sea ports along the south coast of Britain.

Now, Bridport is a most remarkable seaport. It’s been making, growing, manufacturing hemp, flax, sail cloth, ropes, twines, nets of every conceivable description since time out of mind. And I use the phrase time out of mind because it was used in a charter by King John in 1213 where he wrote to the Bourgeois of Bridport and exhorted them night and day to make cables and ropes of every description. There were frequent wars with France, certainly from early medieval times until of course Napoleonic Wars. And Bridport took part in that span of history.
In 1803 the British navy organized a blockade against France. Napoleon counteracted by signing an agreement with Czar Alexander I. This contract was called the Tilsit Treaty and it explicitly forbade any export of hemp to England and America, therefore depriving them both of the use of hemp towards their sail cloth, rope, and other hemp product used in the war effort. Despite Napoleon’s protests, Alexander I allowed merchants to smuggle hemp to Britain. This is one of the reasons why Napoleon decided to invade Russia. But the severe winter of 1912 forced him to withdraw his troops and led to the end of his empire.

A real fashion began with this look on hemp. Hemp has become so popular in Germany that the market today is very good for us. Some of our textiles come from eastern Europe, from Hungary, Romania, very few from China because we are not yet satisfied with the quality. And we have also our own textiles directly produced here in Germany. I hope it will soon be legal to grow hemp in Germany because a lot of European countries already do it. We still have a very strong bureaucratic system in Germany and for this reason we are not yet allowed to grow hemp. But I think hemp growing will soon be legalized here too.

The main difference is certainly that hemp is an ecological culture. Hemp growing doesn’t need any weed killing, no pesticide. Its raw material grows naturally and it doesn’t need chemical intervention. This is surely the most important thing.

In France you can even build houses out of boards made from hemp fiber. The producers ensure that they are protected against fire and rot. This material is long lasting, has good insulating properties and strong and flexible.

24 Hours of ManBearPig

Article by James Delingpole.

Today is ManBearPig day. World renowned carbon trader and masseuse enthusiast Al Gore will be kicking off the celebrations by showing wall-to-wall eco-porn videos of weather doing scary things; stock markets across Europe will be collapsing in sympathy with the Prince of Wales’s recent claims that economic growth is unhealthy and we must all live more “sustainably” (ie in abject poverty); and here on this blog we plan to commemorate this glorious event with fun, games and some of our favourite South Park, Futurama and Eco-loon propaganda videos.

Altogether now: “GLOBAL WARMING! WE DIDN’T LISTEN!!!!”

Here is a Futurama:

Here’s an incredibly lame one from Futurama which pretends to be funny but is actually just PR for a complicit Al Gore:

Here’s the CEI’s take on ManBearPig day:

Here’s some high gloss toss from the trustafarian Luddites at Plane Stupid:

Here’s the WWF with its characteristic charm and lightness of touch, making light of 9/11

Here’s the South Park episode that introduced the world to ManBearPig

Here’s where you can download a transcript of the police interview with the victim of Gore’s alleged wandering hands when he booked a massage in Portland, Oregon. Not for the weak of stomach it includes the phrase “sex-crazed poodle.”

Here’s the funny video put together by Franny, Eugenie and all their lovely friends including cuddly Richard “Vicar of Dibley” Curtis, that fit actress out of X Files, Radiohead and some famous footballers, in which they hilariously suggest that people who don’t believe in Man Made Global Warming should be executed.

Here’s Greenpeace grooming tomorrow’s eco-fascists:

And here, just to lighten the tone a bit after all that worthy misery, is a fun new game from CFACT in which you fire corks at cows bottoms to prevent them releasing deadly greenhouse gas methane into the atmosphere….. I’ve tried it. It’s fun, with something of the brainless, addictive quality of Angry Birds or Hungry Shark, only with Farting Cows instead.

Fed Has More Tricks Up Its Sleeve: Bob Chapman Reports

Forced Injection of Children Without Parents Consent! – Dr. Andrew Wakefield

Exclusive Interview from Dr Andrew Wakefield.

(NaturalNews) In seeking answers to why adolescent girls are suffering devastating health damage after being injected with HPV vaccines, SANE Vax, Inc decided to have vials of Gardasil tested in a laboratory. There, they found over a dozen Gardasil vaccine vials to be contaminated with rDNA of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The vials were purchased in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Poland and France, indicating Gardasil contamination is a global phenomenon.

This means that adolescents who are injected with these vials are being contaminated with a biohazard — the rDNA of HPV. In conducting the tests, Dr. Sin Hang Lee found rDNA from both HPV-11 and HPV-18, which were described as “firmly attached to the aluminum adjuvant.”

That aluminum is also found in vaccines should be frightening all by itself, given that aluminum should never be injected into the human body (it’s toxic when ingested, and it specifically damages the nervous system). With the added discovery that the aluminum adjuvant also carries rDNA fragments of two different strains of Human Papillomavirus, this now reaches the level of a dangerous biohazard — something more like a biological weapon rather than anything resembling medicine.

As SANE Vax explains in its announcement, these tests were conducted after an adolescent girl experienced “acute onset Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis within 24 hours” of being injected with an HPV vaccine.
